Who can enter the PackTheFuture Award?

Answer

Companies submitting application documents must be manufacturers of plastic packaging or films. Also eligible to participate are the European subsidiaries of member companies. Members of the organising associations Elipso and IK are invited to submit their innovations. Unfortunately, non-members cannot take part in the competition. Which packaging solutions can I submit?

Answer

Candidates can submit packaging that has been developed and produced in a European country.
The packaging presented must represent an innovation. Accordingly, the product must be new to the market (not launched before January 2020 for the 2022 competition) or in the development stage.

Candidates can submit an innovation that has been jointly designed or made with a tool manufacturer, machine producer, raw material manufacturer, packer, filler or other cooperation partner.

When is the deadline for participation?

The innovative packaging solutions can be submitted up to and including 30 January 2022. In order to be considered for the jury evaluation, the entry fee of xxx € plus VAT must be received by ELIPSO or IK.

How can I participate in the Award and what information is required?

Answer

If you meet the requirements to participate, please submit your innovation via the online form in one of the categories, upload your relevant documents and send two samples to the address provided. For large or bulky products, please do not send but high resolution photos, drawings, digital animations or videos. For fresh food packaging, the samples should include a product dummy or image.

Yes, multiple innovations can be submitted, but only one per category.

When will the winners be announced?

Answer

A jury of experts will nominate the short list after the closing date in February. The grand jury will decide on the winners based on the short list in a further meeting in March 2023. They will be informed afterwards. The official award ceremony will take place during Interpack 2023 in Düsseldorf. All nominees will receive a nomination certificate.

How will participation and a possible PackTheFuture Award be communicated?

Answer

The organisers will communicate the nominees and the award winners via press releases and the website. Nominees and award winners are entitled to use the award certificate and signet free of charge in accordance with the terms of use.
